Ride is Starting!

Sorry it is little late to post this, but we will be doing a group ride on the Manchester 100 sportive. This is 100 miles, but there is an alternative 100 km route.
Start is 7 a.m to 8 a.m. on Sunday 11th September. The event starts and finishes at Wythenshawe Park, Manchester M23 0AB. Entrance to the park at the north entrance off Wythenshawe Road. There is parking in Wythenshawe Park, and also at the nearby Manchester College, which is where we have always parked in the past. The event is well signposted as you get near the park so there should be no trouble finding it. The event is run in aid of The Christie Hospital but raising funds is not a requirement. The cost is £26-50 per head, with an additional £4 for parking. Also there is a small charge for mailing your entry pack to you but it now may be a little late for this. You can, however collect your entry pack and pay for parking on the day. You need to register on the BIKE EVENTS website at https://bike-events.co.uk/Ride.aspx?id=2707&n=y
You are usually supposed to wear a number on your jersey and your bike, which are provided. There are usually 4 main food stops en-route with toilets and water stations. The route is also marshalled and signposted so a GPS is not absolutely necessary, but a GPX route can be downloaded from the Bike Events website after registration.
I have done it 4 times now and it is a pretty flat course with only a couple of non-challenging climbs (that I can remember!)
HELMETS ARE COMPULSORY. Please bring the usual puncture repair equipment, emergency tools emergency lights, extra food and water bottles, and probably a rain jacket. There is mechanic back up for the event but it can be stretched.
NO ONE will be left behind.
