Access is from the car park on Hallgate, Astley Village, Chorley PR7 1NP. This is a fairly large car park and is free. There are toilets at Astley Hall, though they may not be open until 9 a.m. The alternative car park is on Queens Road PR7 1JU, next to Astley Park main gates PR7 on the other side of the park. This is also free on a Sunday and Weekday evenings.

The route passes through Astley Park to Euxton, Croston, Bispham Green, Burscough Bridge then Rufford for a potential lunch stop. It continues back to Bispham Green then via Bentley Lane to Wrightington, Standish, Worthington, Coppull and Chorley.
