Start is from Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU. There is an adjacent Car Park on Queens Road which is free on Sundays and evenings after 5 p.m. (What3words///line.firmly.pose).
The route is mostly a reverse of Chorley to The Ribble 2. It goes clockwise through the park to Astley Hall (where there are toilets), then via Euxton, Buckshaw Village, Leyland, Farington Moss and Whitestake. Reaching New Longton it reverses to Penwortham, crossing the bridge to Avenham Park, then Walton-le-Dale and Gregson Lane, following NCN 91 back to Chorley via Brindle and Denham Hill.
