Ride is Starting!

Meet at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU, Sunday 2nd May at 9.30 a.m.
Parking is available in the adjacent Queens Road Car Park, PR7 1JU. Turn right immediately after the park gates when travelling from Preston or Junction 8 M61. The car park is then immediately on the right and Car Parking is free on Sundays.

The route is as below. Lunch will be taken at Kitty's Tea Room in Freshfield. Due to current restrictions a maximum of 15 participants are allowed. Up to 9 places are available on this website so if you book on over the 9 you will move up a place if someone drops out, but only the first 9 should attend on the day.
Further places will be available on https://www.letsride.co.uk.
There is a chance Kitty's Tea Room will be closed IF the weather is poor, which at this stage is NOT expected. There will however be an excellent and open fish and chip shop opposite.
Riders are responsible for social distancing and hand hygiene where appropriate.

Total distance is 54 miles.

Leaving from Astley Park gates, Chorley PR7 1JU.

Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. Weekdays and Saturdays and all day on Sundays.

The route passes through Charnock Richard, Wrightington, Parbold, Newburgh, Westhead, Scarth Hill, Town Green, Aughton and Downholland Cross arriving in Freshfield for lunch.
Return is a more northerly route via Burscough Bridge, Bispham Green, Eccleston, Euxton returning to Astley Park.

This route contains a short section of unmade and tarmac lengths of the Trans-Pennine Trail and a section of canal towpath, but is still suitable for standard road bikes.
