UPDATE 7.30 A.M. 18 the June
The forecast for today looks slightly more favourable in that the prediction of thunderstorms for Bilsborrow is now for 5 p.m. There still is a reasonable risk of rain in Blackpool from 1 p.m., but again the thunderstorms much later in the day, and rain in Knott End not predicted until 3 p.m.
We have had a very heavy shower in Chorley for half an hour at about 6.30 a.m.! I will leave it up to you whether you still wish to come today but I will still go ahead and turn up for the ride for those that are happy to still go.

Meet at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday 18th June in the small car park on the right (travelling North on the A6) on Garstang road, Bilsborrow PR3 0RE. The car park is situated just after the left turn into St Michaels Road (Guy’s Thatched Hamlet) and just before the Right turn into Bilsborrow Lane (The Roebuck and the Premier Inn). Route as below. You will need 20p for the Cartford Toll Bridge and £2-50 for the Wyre ferry.
Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment. *We also recommend all participants carry emergency contact details about their person*.
Lunch can be taken in Knott End or Fleetwood, depending on numbers. There will also be a customary stop in Stanley Park, Blackpool, for a vanilla slice (other cakes will be available).
Total distance is 52 miles and very flat. NO ONE will be left behind.

Start in the small car park on the right (travelling North on the A6) on Garstang road, Bilsborrow PR3 0RE. The route is along St Michaels Road to Inskip. Thence through Elswick, Great Eccleston, Pilling and Knott End. (There is a toll bridge over the Wyre en route on Cartford Lane which is 20p for cyclists). Take the ferry from Knott End to Fleetwood. The ferry runs every half hour, usually 30 mins past and on the hour from Knott End, but this may vary (https://www.facebook.com/FleetwoodtoKnottEndFerry/).
The Ferry costs £3 for an adult with bike, CASH is preferred. Please make sure you have the money for this! the ferry takes 10 minutes.
From Fleetwood follow the NCN route 62 along the promenade as far as Blackpool Tower before turning inland through Stanley Park to Weeton, Wesham, Kirkham, Treales and Woodplumpton, returning to Bilsborrow.
The Total distance is 52 miles, and a pretty flat route.
