Start Billington War Memorial. Adjacent parking is available at weekends and during school holidays outside St.Augustines High School, Elker Lane, BB7 9JA (What3Words ///celebrate.amuses.friday).
Route passes through Whalley, Worston, Downham, Chatburn, Sawley, Bolton by Bowland to Hellifield where there is a heritage railway station that is worth a visit. The station buffet is closed on Sunday and Monday.
Return is via Wigglesworth, Bolton By Bowland, Grindleton, Bashall Eaves, Great Mitton and Whalley. This is the same route as Billington to Hellifield almost circular with an extra 3 miles to take in the scenic Downham.
