Start is from the Car Park at the Buckshaw Village Community Playing Fields (Buckshaw Bernabau) on Old Worden Lane, Buckshaw Village PR7 7AE (What3Words ///lamenting.wording.equity). The car park is free and usually quiet if there are no football matches in progress.
The route goes anti-clockwise on NCN 55 to Whittle-le-Woods, then NCN 91 up Denham Hill to Brindle and Salmesbury Bottoms. From here it follows Cuerdale Lane to Avenham Park and Hurst Grange Park. Return is via Cop Lane, Newgate, Farington and Leyland, returning to Buckshaw via Wigan Lane cycle path.
