Meet at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU at 10 a.m. on Sunday December 4th. Route and parking details below. We will pass the public toilet on the other side of the park on the way out. Please bring the usual puncture repair equipment and emergency tools. Emergency or daytime running lights are recommended.

Lunch can be taken at Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve in Rufford.

Start at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU. Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. and all day on Sunday.

Route passes through Astley Park to Euxton, then Back Lane to Eccleston. From here to Heskin Green, Wrightington, Appley Bridge, Holland Lees, Newburgh and Burscough Bridge, passing Mere Sands Wood Nature Reserve. Thence to Rufford, Mawdsley, the other end of Eccleston, then via NCN route 91 to Runshaw moor and Euxton returning to Astley Park via Whinney and Washington Lanes.
