Ride is Starting!

Meet at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU at 9.45 a.m. on Sunday 10th May. There is adjacent parking in the Queens Road Car Park which is free on Sundays. We shall be passing Astley Hall where there are toilets. There is a vintage car rally in the park from 10 a.m. Hopefully this will not affect parking availability too much.
Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment. Daytime running lights are also a good idea.
Cafe stop at Halsall Village Bakery. Cash/ Card if you require lunch.
Total distance is 46 miles. NO ONE will be left behind.

Start is from Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU. There is an adjacent Car Park on Queens Road which is free on Sundays and evenings after 5 p.m. (What3words///line.firmly.pose). There are toilets at Astley Hall, which is passed on the route, but the car park here is £3, all day every day.
The route is similar to "Whittle to Clieves Hills with a slight variation and runs clockwise through the park to Euxton, taking Back Lane to Eccleston. From here it goes towards Wrightington, then through High Moor and down Stoney Lane to Parbold, Newburgh, Westhead and Scarth Hill. Arriving in Aughton it goes to the Clieves Hill viewpoint then Halsall, returning via Heatons Bridge, Curlew Lane, Rufford, Mawdsley, Eccleston and Euxton.
