Meet at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU, at 9.a.m. on Sunday 26th September. Route and adjacent free parking information below.
Apart for some undulation from Chorley through to Wrightington this is a fairly flat ride. Lunch will be taken at Kitty's Cafe in Freshfield.
Please bring the usual puncture repair and emergency tools. Though we will be back before dark, emergency, or daytime running lights, can be a good idea. Cash or Card if you are taking lunch.

Leaving from Astley Park gates, Chorley PR7 1JU.

Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. Weekdays and Saturdays and all day on Sundays.

The route passes through Charnock Richard, Wrightington, Parbold, Newburgh, Westhead, Scarth Hill, Town Green, Aughton and Downholland Cross arriving in Freshfield for lunch.
Return is a more northerly route via Burscough Bridge, Bispham Green, Eccleston, Euxton returning to Astley Park.

This route contains a short section of unmade and tarmac lengths of the Trans-Pennine Trail and a section of canal towpath, but is still suitable for standard road bikes.
