Meet at Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU at 9.30 a.m. on Sunday 1st May. Car Parking and route details as below. There is an alternative car park at Astley Hall on Hallgate PR7 1NP, which is also free. There are toilets at Astley Hall and you will have to ride through the park to he start.
Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment. Lunch can be taken at Kitty's Tea Room in Freshfield. A really nice ride over varied terrain with some quiet roads over the mosses near Freshfield. A couple of short hills early on, but otherwise a rather flat ride again.

Leaving from Astley Park gates, Chorley PR7 1JU.
Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. Weekdays and Saturdays and all day on Sundays.
The route passes through Charnock Richard, Wrightington, Parbold, Newburgh, Westhead, Scarth Hill, Town Green, Aughton and Downholland Cross arriving in Freshfield for lunch.
Return is a more northerly route via Burscough Bridge, Bispham Green, Eccleston, Euxton returning to Astley Park.
This route contains a short section of unmade and tarmac lengths of the Trans-Pennine Trail and a section of canal towpath, but is still suitable for standard road bikes.
