Ride is Starting!

Meet at Astley Hall, Chorley PR7 1XA, at 10 a.m. on Sunday 5th April (Easter Sunday). Parking at Astley Hall is chargeable, so we recommend parking in the Queens Road Car Park by the park gates and cycling through the park to the start. This car park is free on Sundays. More details and the route as below.
Please bring the usual emergency tools and puncture repair equipment. Daytime running lights are a good idea.
Lunch can be taken in Burscough Bridge (cash or card required).
The weather is somewhat changeable at present and forecast to be windy, though hopefully the worst of this will have abated by the time we set off.
Total distance is 35 miles, NO ONE will be left behind.

Start is from Astley Hall. Parking is available in the car park for Astley Hall on Hallgate, PR7 1NP. What3words ///charm.loves.empire. However the car park is pay only every day (£3). There are toilets at the hall adjacent to the cafe. Car parking is free on Sundays at other Chorley car parks. We would recommend Queens Road by the main gates, PR7 1JU (What3words///line.firmly.pose), which is free on a Sundays and ride through the park.
The route goes clockwise through Euxton, taking Back Lane to Eccleston. The route then goes South through Appley Moor and Bridge, turning West at Holland Lees, along Lees Lane, then through Newburgh to Burscough Bridge, Tarlscough, Mere Brow, Sollom and Croston. Finally back to Astley Hall via Euxton.
