There is an alternative car park on Queens road, Chorley PR7 1JU, which is free on Sundays and evenings after 5 p.m. (What3words///line.firmly.pose). You can then cycle through the park to the start. There are toilets at Astley Hall, but will probably only be open between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
The route is clockwise via Euxton, Back Lane to Eccleston and Andertons Mill to Grimshaw Green. From here North to Mawdsley, Croston, Walmer Bridge, Longton, New Longton and Farington; returning through Cuerden Park, Buckshaw Village and Astley Village.
