Starting at the top of Factory Lane where it joins the A6, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley PR6 7HS. The adjacent War Memorial Car Park (which is free) is accessed through a narrow entrance on the corner of the A6 Preston Road and Factory Lane itself. St John's Primary School is on the opposite corner and Whittlebrook Pharmacy on the opposite side of the road. (what3words address: flagging.poorly.system). It will probably be possible to park on Factory lane itself. There is also pay car park at the bottom of Factory Lane for Cuerden Park.
The route is anti-clockwise, up Cliffe Drive, through Whittle-le-Woods then climbing Denham Lane to Brindle. Then along Hillhouse Lane, following NCN 91 to Salmesbury Bottoms and Spring and Cuerdale Lanes to Walton-le-Dale. From here through Avenham park and over the cobble bridge on NCN 62 to Hurst Grange Park. Return from Hurst Grange Park is via Cop Lane, through Penwortham to Farington Moss, skirting Cuerden Vally Park and Back Lane to the start.
