Leaving from Astley Park gates, Chorley PR7 1JU.
Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking is free after 5 p.m. on Weekdays and Saturdays and all day on Sundays. Toilets are available at Astley Hall on the other side of the Park, where there is also a free car park.
This is a very similar route to 'Chorley to Halsall', but is in the opposite direction and includes a short extra leg from Halsall around past Renacres Hospital.
The route is through the park to Euxton, then via Back Lane to Eccleston, Mawdsley and Rufford. From Rufford via Curlew Lane to Tarlscough and Halsall, where cafes are situated. Return route is through the reasonably attractive town of Ormskirk to Lathom, Bispham Green, Wrightington, Welch Whitttle and Charnock Richard to Chorley and Astley Park.
