Starting at the top of Factory Lane where it joins the A6, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley PR6 7HS. The adjacent War Memorial Car Park (which is free) is accessed through a narrow entrance on the corner of the A6 Preston Road and Factory Lane itself. St John's Primary School is on the opposite corner and Whittlebrook Pharmacy on the opposite side of the road. It will probably be possible to park on Factory lane itself.
The route is anti-clockwise up Cliffe Drive and Birchin Lane to Brindle via Denham Lane. Continuing along the NCN route 91 to Boars Head and Gib Lane to Salmesbury Bottoms, thence along Springs and Cuerdale Lanes to Walton-le-Dale and Avenham Park. Return route is over the bridge following NCN 55 to Cuerden Vally Park skirting this via Shady and Back Lanes to Whittle-le-Woods.
