Most of the route is on National Routes 6, 90, The Way of the Roses and the Bay Cycleway. As such it is mostly a road ride with some cycle paths and a length of the Lancaster canal path, to avoid the A6 back to Lancaster.
A Ride to include several memorable and interesting places, including Crook O'Lune, Carnforth Station Buffet, Morecambe Bay and the Eric Morecambe Statue and the Lune Millennium Bridge in Lancaster.
A potential lunch stop at the Station Buffet in Carnforth, though on Sundays it only serves a Sunday Lunch. Other cafes are potentially available en route.
Start in the small car park on the right on the A6 (travelling North on the A6) on Garstang road, Bilsborrow PR3 0RE. This car park is situated just after the left turn into St Michaels Road (Guy’s Thatched Hamlet) and just before the Right turn into Bilsborrow Lane (The Roebuck and the Premier Inn).
The route heads inevitably north, criss crossing the M6 to Scorton, Bay Horse, Quernmore and Caton, then Halton to Carnforth station buffet.
The return route is along the Morcambe promenade then Lancaster, Glasson Dock, Cockerham and Garstang before returning to Bilsborow.
The Total distance is 58 miles.
