This route follows that of the last incarnation of the Chorley Grand Prix professional circuit race in 2018. If you wish to emulate the professionals you will have to complete the circuit 5 times. Starting from Astley Park Gates, PR7 1JU, parking is available in the adjacent Queens Road car park. Parking is free on Sundays and after 5 p.m. weekdays and Saturday.

The route goes down Park Road and up Harpers Lane then along Eaves Lane and Cowling Brow to Limbrick. Subsequently it crosses the reservoir to Rivington Village then up Rivington road and the Belmont climb descending to Belmont village, turning left along the A675 to Abbey Village. From Abbey Village it turns left to Brinscall, Higher Wheelton and Heapey, crossing the A6 to Buckshaw village and Euxton to return to Park road (and the park gates) along Southport road.
