Meet in the car park in front of the former Leo’s carpets (adjacent to Tesco), Whalley New Road, Roe Lee, Blackburn BB1 9AU.

There are threats of clamping if you park in the car park itself but parking is possible on the street to the left of the car park, on Pearl St. opposite, and possibly on Whalley New Road itself nearby.

The route takes us along Whalley Old Road and Wilpshire Road to Clayton-le-Moors, Enfield and Huncoat. We then climb up to Crown Point. We will be passing the Singing Ringing Tree at the top and anyone who wishes to take the short walk to visit it may do so.

We then descend past Clough Bottom reservoir to Lumb, Newchurch then Rawtenstall for a lunch break.

Return is via Haslingden, Rising Bridge, Baxenden, Accrington, Oswaldtwistle, Knuzden Brook and Whitebirk back to Roe Lee.
