Start from Woodies Crook O'Lune Car Park, Low Road,Halton LA2 6LZ. (what3words address: trend.uplifting.rocket). Parking is £1.00 all day and the machine accepts contactless payments. There is a small tea/snack hut at Woodies.
On a good day a wonderfully scenic and rolling ride around part of North lancashire with vews across the bay to the lakeland hills. On a bad day a bit wild and woolly but worth it none the less. There is a small tea/snack hut at Woodies.
The route leaves 'Woodies' and avoids the rough section of road by using the cycleway for a short distance before rejoining the road and climbing up and across to Carnforth. From there we head to Arnside passing an old ruined keep before hugging the coast to Milnthorpe. Opportunities for a snack here if needed, if not carry on and just after the M6 appears on the left look out for Farleton View Tea rooms.
Leave here and climb over the side of Farleton Fell taking a succesion of quiet lanes into Kirby Lonsdale. The route now heads to Wittington and Arkholme before not quite dropping into Gressingham for a rather nice climb and final descent back to the start.
