Leaving from Astley Park Gates, Chorley PR7 1JU. There is an adjacent car park on Queens Road (What3words///line.firmly.pose), which is free on a Sunday. There is a large car park on Hallgate for Astley Hall, Chorley PR7 1XA, (What3Words ///money.ducencil), but there is now a £3 charge for all day parking every day. There are, however, toilets there.
The route goes clockwise through Astley Park, following the Chorley Loop along Myles Standish Way to ascend Dob Brow to Charnock Richard. From here it follows NCN91 to Wrightington, Bispham Green then Rufford. After arriving in Burscough Bridge the return route is via Orrell lane to Tarlscough and Mere Brow, following the cycleway to Sollom, Croston and Runshaw Lane to Leyland. Return to Chorley is via Euxton and Buckshaw Village.
