Leaving from Astley Park gates, Chorley PR7 1JU.
Car Parking is conveniently located on Queens Road car park, PR7 1JU. This is next to the park gates. Turn right immediately after the park gates when entering Chorley from the Preston direction or M61 junction 8. Parking should be free after 5 p.m. and all day on Sunday. There is an alternative car park on Hallgate, Astley Village, Chorley PR7 1NP. This is a fairly large car park and is free at all times. There are toilets at Astley Hall, but will probably only be open between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. You will have to ride through the park to the start.
The route is anti-clockwise through Astley Village, along Euxton Lane to Euxton, Runshaw and Runshaw Hall Lane passing through Worden Park into Leyland. From Leyland the route accesses country roads to Midge Hall, Longton, Walmer Bridge and Much Hoole to Croston. Return is via NCN 91 to rejoin Runshaw lane before turning off down Pear Tree Lane back to Astley Park. An overall flat route.
Total distance is 27 miles.
