Starting at the top of Factory Lane where it joins the A6, Whittle-le-Woods, Chorley PR6 7HS. The adjacent War Memorial Car Park (which is free) is accessed through a narrow entrance on the corner of the A6 Preston Road and Factory Lane itself. St John's Primary School is on the opposite corner and Whittlebrook Pharmacy on the opposite side of the road. (what3words address: flagging.poorly.system). It will probably be possible to park on Factory lane itself. There is also pay car park at the bottom of Factory Lane for Cuerden Park.
The Route is Clockwise, down factory lane, entering Cuerden park before turning off to Buckshaw Village. Cross the main road to continue on cycle paths through Buckshaw then on to Chorley, Coppull, Shevington and Gathurst to Orrell Post. Continue along the road before turning off up the Crank Road, taking a short section of the Rainford Linear Park to Rainford then a possible lunch stop at The Inglenook Farm Cafe on the By-pass. Return is via Bickerstaffe, Aughton, Clieves Hills, Burscough Bridge, Bispham Green, Croston and Runshaw Moor back to Buckshaw and the start.
